Saturday: Auckland Museum, City Link Bus, Cruise on the Bay, SkyCity

The following happened Saturday, NZ time, and I am writing this post Saturday evening, but it shows up as being posted early Saturday!
Well, it's a gorgeous, gorgeous day!! We stroll through a local farmers' market.

Near the Auckland Museum, we meet Prince, a member of the Ngati Whatua Maori tribe. He welcomes us and speaks about Maori history, culture and mythology.

We see a presentation of Maori dance and war chants at the Auckland Museum.

A quick lunch of Greek salad -- quick, because I didn't even get a photo of it before I devoured it. This is what the tray at the showcase counter looked like.
We ride the city link bus around the city and meet the group mid-afternoon for a "coffee cruise" in the Auckland harbor. Clear blue sky, steady breeze... we couldn't ask for better sailing weather. Brent and I owned a sailboat when we lived in Panama. I thought about him a lot today.

Aline and I walked over to Skycity Tower to see the Auckland sunset from 715 feet above the street as sky jumpers free fall past the observation deck going down 624 feet! You pay US$152 for the joy of seemingly falling to your death...

Aline and I then have dinner at the Observatory Seafood Buffet a couple of levels above the observation deck.  Tomorrow we go to Rotorua!
